Phi Phi Island
Phi Phi Island is not exactly in Phuket but very close by and easily accessible. It has been added to our list of 8 best things to do in Phuket as it is a strong favourite of any visitor and is highly recommended. The island became famous for featuring in the movie ´The Beach´. Even though the particular area of Maya Bay is now closed off to the public, Phi Phi Island is still a favourite amongst travellers. Many boat trips are available to discover the extreme beauty these incredible islands and wildlife that live there.
Although day trips to the island from Phuket are available, it does not leave you with much time to explore. We would recommend staying overnight and having this arranged before travelling as accommodation can be limited during certain times of the year. Phi Phi Island offers a lot of venues to spend the evening with various things including live fire shows to entertain you. Explore the islands beautiful view points and trek through the forest to meet to the resident monkeys on your way down to Rantee Beach. This is an ideal place for relaxation and a day away from the crowds. Rantee Beach is a romantic secluded spot to unwind. If you don´t fancy the trek back over the hill, you can get back quickly by water taxi on a long-tail boat. There simply is not enough time to do everything on Phi Phi Island during a day trip.
Visit Phang Nga Bay on a day trip by boat and visit James Bond Island & Koh Panyee, the most popular and iconic spots. Explore the the huge limestone cliffs and caves by kayak to get to the hidden coves.

Enjoy Phuket´s Best Beaches
One of the best things to do in Phuket is to enjoy the stunning beaches. It is near impossible to find a beach in Thailand that isn´t picture perfect. In excess of 25 beaches line the coast of Phuket. You will always find what you are looking for whether it be secluded gems or a fun day of water sports. It´s soft white sandy beaches and the green-blue seas of the Andaman will be where you spend most of your days.
If you are staying in Phuket, Patong is probably where you will be. Bangla Road is the main street from the beach up to Jungceylon Shopping Mall. Hotel shuttles, taxis and buses use this street to get tourists to the centre of Patong. In the daytime this is popular for bars, eateries and market shopping. This street is minutes to Patong Beach. At night the street becomes blocked off to traffic and turns into an open aired street party. It has many bars, nightclubs, street performers and shows. We recommend heading to Banga Road in the day and night. Both make the list of things to do in Phuket as each is such a different experience.
Visit one of Phuket´s many night markets at least once. This is the place to shop for your souvenirs and watch the street performers and live music. If you pluck up enough courage, you can even sample some critters as a snack. Get at least one photo of you eating a fried cricket or cockroach!
There are many temples across the whole of Thailand and Wat Chalong is Phuket´s most important. Thousands of tourists visit Wat Chalong each year. Wat Chalong is a very spiritual temple and a visit is definitely a must do in Phuket.
There are many shacks along the beaches and sellers will bring beverages to sunbathers to enjoy. If you prefer something a bit more up market then head to one of the beach clubs. Here you will find a party atmosphere with live DJ´s and foam parties.
