They stretch from the most southern end of Parque Natural de Corralejo up to Charco de Bristol north of Corralejo. So if you are a beach lover, a visit to one of these beaches will be high up on your list of things to do in Corralejo. Whether you want an action packed day on the beach for the family or a secluded romantic spot, Corralejo is the place to be. Our favourite beach is Playa Waikiki, just off the promenade and sheltered from the wind and waves. This beach is ideal for families and those who love water sports.
The Montaña Roja (Hiking)
If you are an avid hiker who likes to get out and about then a visit Montaña Roja is the perfect hike for you. Montaña Roja is just a few miles away overlooking Corralejo. It‘s volcanic cone reaches 312 meters high. Montaña Roja known to the locals as Red Mountain due to is colouring, is home to a colony of birds Hubaria Canaria and plants like Matamoro and Uvilla. If you set off early you can be at the top for sunrise and take in the magnificent views.
There are a number of shore dives available off the coast of Corralejo which are ideal for fist time divers. With around 15 dive sites around Corralejo, this is an ideal destination for those who love the underwater world. Our favourite was El Marrajo lava reef. Only accessible by boat, this means you will get good visibility away from snorkellers and swimmers from the beach. With a depth of between 9 – 13 meters this is ideal for new divers.
Our favourite things to do in Corralejo are out on the water! Take a half day whale watching trip on board a catamaran with an all inclusive experience. The marine life in the Atlantic ocean is nothing short of spectacular. Enjoy a trip with possibilities of sighing whales and dolphins. There are numerous species of whales and dolphins that live all year round in the waters surrounding the Canary Islands, The most commonly seen are the pilot whales and bottlenose dolphins. Boat trips from Corralejo Marina are available throughout the year with great chances of sighting these amazing marine mammals.
Jet Ski Safari
If you are a bit of an adrenaline junkie with a love for water sports then a jet ski safari from Corralejo Marina would be highly recommended. Head out in small guided groups following a speed boat. You can reach high speeds while you travel out to the nearby Isla de Lobos where you will stop to cool down with a bit of snorkelling. Travelling fast across the azure waters makes this excursion one of the best things to do in Corralejo.
Bars & Restaurants
Like most tourist resorts in the Canary Islands, Corralejo has an abundance of great cafes, restaurants and cocktail bars to choose from. We have put together a list of establishments that we believe to be the best eateries and bars in Corralejo.
Skybar Restaurant & Sports Bar
The Skybar Restaurant is a big favourite amongst tourists and locals. Treat your taste buds to an exciting journey around the world and experience delicious ´street food´ from the Far and Middle East, through Europe and all the way across to the USA and South America. Skybar Restaurant & Sports Bar is especially ideal for sports fans as they play all major football matches and sporting events. They offer great happy hour deals and serve what we believe to be the best English fried breakfast in Corralejo. All of their food is freshly cooked and the taste will bring you back time and time again.
